Meeting TopicLGBTQ+ Folks and Reproductive Rights

There is a massive intersection of the concurrent movements for LGBTQ+ equity and repro rights
justice, both are stigmatized and politicized, and both are tied intricately to bodily and personal
autonomy. Often folks who are both advocates for repro rights are alienated from each other over
the issue of using inclusive language or not. Planned Parenthood of Metro NJ will function as a
convener on LGBTQ+ reproductive and gender-affirming healthcare at an event in September,
bringing together a diverse panel of voices from various standpoints of the queer & repro rights
communities. Planned Parenthood is perfectly situated to address these intersecting causes, and is, in
fact, the largest national provider of gender-affirming hormone therapy. We hope to center dialogue
on how we can be more inclusive – through language, understanding of unique barriers, etc. – and
stay united in the shared vision for better reproductive care for all.

Our speaker is Anne Marie Venezia, who has a B.A. in both English and Gender, Sexuality, and
Women’s Studies, with a minor in LGBTQ+ Studies from Montclair State University. Download the flyer with more info.
