Meeting TopicSouth Jersey NOW Holiday Party!

Grab a glass of wine, a plate of cheese and crackers, some chocolate or your favorite snacks, and join us for a fun and unique holiday party. Chapter members will introduce an activity, and whoever wants to, can join in. Participate in as many activities as you want. Or just watch and laugh with the rest of us!

  • Say who you’d like to put on a plane or ship that’s going to travel the globe forever
  • Recommend a movie you saw or a book you read that you think others would enjoy
  • The Best of Times OR The Worst of Times: give a brief example of one OR the other
  • Share a short excerpt from a book, Letter to the Editor, or poem that you read in the past year
  • Write a group poem: everyone writes one line and it gets read when it’s finished
  • Women’s Issues Trivia

Another Option for Those Who Wish to Do So

Each year, South Jersey NOW collects gift cards and non-perishable food for clients of the Women’s Opportunity Center. These women, who have lost a spouse to death, disability or desertion, are referred to as Displaced Homemakers. In many cases, they haven’t previously worked outside the home and need help getting a job (resumes, career counseling, computer classes) so they can become wage earners. Chapter members who wish to do so can purchase one or more gift cards at Target, Kohls, Shop Rite, Aldi or Barnes and Noble (we only need 1-2 B&N). In addition, you could donate a free ham or turkey that you can’t use as well as any non-perishable foods, especially canned proteins or cereals. Mail your gift cards to Kathy Pritz so she has them no later than 12/12, to 43 Alton Way, Burlington, NJ 08016 (call her at 609-351-4288 to tell her it’s on the way). Or if you have a ham, turkey or non-perishable food and want to drop it off yourself in Delran, contact Karen Vitulli at 609-290-6662 or Karen.Vitulli@philaymca.org no later than 12/13. Either way, thanks so much for helping to give Karen’s clients a happier holiday season.
